"I recently started working on a new commissioned piece for the National Museum of Marine Corps. The piece is a larger-than-life sculpture of Minerva, Goddess of Wisdom and War, and will be displayed in the Hall of Valor. It will bring the Medal of Honor into three-dimensional form, celebrating the valor of those who sacrificed.

A look inside the museum
The National Museum of the Marine Corps serves as a powerful tribute to the dedication, achievements, and sacrifices of U.S. Marines. Located in Triangle, Virginia next to Marine Corps Base Quantico and operated by Marine Corps University.

Minerva will stand as a permanent piece in the museum’s Hall of Valor, which is currently under construction.
Small scale beginnings
These small, preliminary models allow for experimentation with form, gesture, and composition before the final piece is cast. Each maquette captures the raw essence of an idea, providing a tactile exploration of movement and emotion.
Though smaller in scale, they carry the same emotional depth as the finished sculptures, offering an intimate look at the early stages of development.
larger than life endings
Using the small scale version as a reference, it's then time to move into the design phase of creating the larger version. Every project is different and comes with it's own set of challenges and experiences. Starting with the small scale version allows one to understand the inner workings of each sculpture and how to go about transforming it into its full, larger than life version.
